My name is Aaron Hutchison, I am a 17 year old high school senior student at City Charter High School. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My dad influenced me to start playing dek hockey when I was about 8 years old and I've been in love with the game of hockey ever since. I became a die-hard Pittsburgh Penguins fan, which was also a decision heavily influenced by my dad since he's been a die-hard Penguins fan since the early 90's. When the Penguins appeared in back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals in 2008 and 2009, it really sparked my interest in the team. I remember being upset when the Pens lost to the Red Wings in 2008 and then being so excited that they made it back to the final the next year and ended up winning it (against the Red Wings too). When the Penguins won back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2016 and 2017, I was so happy. Seeing them go from out of the playoffs to the final in 2016 was amazing. They topped it off and made me even happier by winning again in 2017. I also greatly support the Steelers and Pirates (even though the Pirates make it almost impossible). I support the men and women's USA hockey teams, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins), and the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins). I got into graphic design by just messing around with Photoshop when I was 15 years old. I would try to make "cool" wallpapers and graphics using images of Penguins' players. I wasn't good at it, but I had fun doing it and I wanted to get better. So I continued to work on designing in Photoshop whenever I could, using different players from different teams and leagues, and strengthening my Photoshop skills by mostly self-teaching. I had a 3 month internship where I would create sample graphics that a sports team would use, such as schedules, tickets, posters, advertisements, infographics, game programs, social media graphics, promotions, etc. Now, I create graphics using various sports, leagues, teams, and players. My school requires all students to complete a graduation project, and my project is "sports graphic design." Part of my project is the creation of this website and me sharing my art with others. I post my designs to my Instagram account to share them with people that will appreciate them. I want to have a graphic design career with a sports organization (preferably hockey) because I love graphic design and sports. It would be a dream come true if I were to work as a graphic designer for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
